Sullivan Creative Wins Three NEDMA Awards for Creative Excellence

Newton, MA/Dunbarton, NH  — Sullivan Creative received three creative excellence awards at the New England Direct Marketing Association (NEDMA) Annual Awards Competition on April 12 at the Roxy in Boston. One of the key judging criteria is results, and Sullivan Creative demonstrated its ability to meet its clients’ marketing objectives for projects in the following categories:

    Consumer Catalog category for a recruitment catalog developed for Boston University’s Summer Term program. Sullivan Creative designed a 4-color, 140+-page catalog that highlighted Boston University's place in the Boston skyline and featured the tagline -- Discover the Power of Summer.  It incorporated a How to Use this Book section, and content was clearly formatted for easy use.  Throughout the catalog, graphics, photos, and color were used to illustrate the activity at BU's Charles River campus. The catalog is a key fulfillment piece for student inquiries. The Summer Term program saw enrollment and revenue increase over the previous year.

    International category for a brochure developed for the Global Health Initiative (GHI) at Boston University, which was established to develop new programs of study to prepare students from a variety of disciplines to contribute to solving global health challenges.  The GHI needed a brochure promoting the GHI's mission and program needs that could be used when meeting with alumni, high net-worth individuals, grant-issuing foundations, and prospective donors around the world.  Sullivan Creative incorporated an original illustration to promote the idea of Boston University as a "world house" where students are educated to be global citizens. The illustrations highlight the inclusive and global nature of the program. The content clearly communicates the program's vision and its specific program areas -- education, research, and outreach.  The brochure also features insert sheets on specific donation opportunities. The brochure has enabled the GHI to obtain support for its programs.

    Integrated Media Campaign (traffic building) category for League of NH Craftsmen’s 2nd Annual Open Studio Tour promotion. The Open Studio Tour, held during Veteran’s Day weekend,  is one of the League’s key events designed to educate the public about the techniques involved in making fine craft and to assist their members in selling their craft work.  The tour locations were located throughout the state of New Hampshire and within 10 miles outside the state border, so the target audience included households in New England and New York State. Sullivan Creative employed an integrated promotional strategy that involved extensive media outreach, limited advertising, and guerilla marketing efforts. Materials developed included a postcard; posters; an Open Studio Tour guide with the participants, their locations, and directions; and a press kit. As a result of this integrated campaign, the attendance and craft sales were higher than the previous year.

The NEDMA Awards is a results-oriented competition that recognizes creative and strategic achievement by New England advertisers in all direct marketing media.
